Built in 1955 to transport frozen fruit and vegetables, this RR-56 class reefer was rebuilt and repainted in the early 1970s. Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe was formed in 1859 and became one of the largest freight railroads in the nation before it merged with Burlington Northern Railroad in 1996 to form Burlington Northern Santa Fe which continues to operate to this day.
