Description
This 40’ standard box car with plug door is freight car red with white lettering and runs on Bettendorf trucks. Built in 1960 for Pennsylvania Railroad, this 40’ class X54A boxcar was outfitted with Pullman-Standard Compartmentizers and was used for food service. Pennsylvania was a large Class 1 railroad formed in 1846 and grew to be a predominant shipper on the east coast until 1968 when it merged with rival New York Central to form Penn Central.
