Description
REPRINT
Rebuilt from bulkhead flatcars with Barber Roller Bearing trucks in 1982 and 1983, these TOFC flat cars were 57’ 6” in length and lasted until the late 1980s before being retired as containerized intermodal traffic became more common. Founded in 1859, Santa Fe was one of the largest railroads in North America up until 1996, when it merged with Burlington Northern to form BNSF.
