Description
This GE52E 50’ covered gondola with Barber Roller Bearing trucks was built for Erie Lackawanna and later obtained in the 1976 creation of Conrail, when it was repainted and fitted with a coil steel cover. Erie Lackawanna was formed through the 1960 merger of the Erie Railroad, and the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western Railroad. It was rolled into Conrail in 1976, and most rolling stock was repainted and re-stenciled into the Conrail paint scheme.
