Description
This 50’ standard box car with 10’ single door, no roofwalk, and short ladders is grey with black lettering and runs on Roller Bearing trucks. Built in April 1979 for Southern Railway, this 50’ general purpose boxcar has a 4,954 cubic foot capacity and a maximum gross weight of 177,000 pounds. It later became the property of Norfolk Southern through the merger of Norfolk & Western and Southern and was relegated to the maintenance of way service.
