The Pennsylvania Railroad was a Class 1 Railroad that was established in 1846. They operated over 11,640 miles of rail line in the 1920s and carried more traffic than comparable length railroads like Union Pacific and Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe at the time. These flatcars feature an impeller load held up between the cars by a steel girder that connect them.
