Description
This 83’ heavyweight modernized business car with balloon roof is Tuscan red with buff lettering and runs on 4-wheel passenger car trucks. Built in 1927 at the Altoona shops as Class Z74D, this business car was upgraded in 1935 with ice-activated air conditioning and named “Pennsylvania.” It went through several refits over the years and was eventually upgraded with mechanical air conditioning, four staterooms, and a stainless-steel kitchen to serve railroad President J.M. Symes. This car also had the distinction of carrying the body of Robert F. Kennedy from New York to Washington D.C. in 1968.
