SP® is a registered trademark of the Union Pacific Railroad.
This 39’ single dome tank car is black with white lettering and ran on Bettendorf trucks. They were built in the 1940s and were marked with the SP “diamond-S” insignia, indicating sugar loading only. Serviced in 1964, they continued in revenue service for another decade or so before being relegated to MOW service.
