These SW1500 locomotives are black with white band and gold lettering and run on Flexicoil trucks. Built in 1968 for Southern Railway in an order of 30, these switchers were used in both yard and transfer service throughout the carriers’ terminal areas but concentrated in the Carolinas, Ohio and Alabama regions.
